I am please to introduce Anastasiia Kolhan, a Ukrainian born contemporary painter whose work moves confidently across emotion, symbolism and psychological depth, and takes her place at our christmas art auction with 3 of her popular works.. Her practice unfolds through distinct conceptual series, each creating its own emotional world with a clear visual language and a strong symbolic identity.
Anastasiia paints from lived experience. Her subjects grow out of the inner spaces where life, death and love exist together, shaping the human story. Her contemporary artworks combine watercolour, pastel and mixed media, exploring how colour, gesture and form can transform fleeting inner states into powerful and enduring images.
Her work is expressive, intense and deeply personal, yet also universal. She invites the viewer into quiet moments of vulnerability and sudden moments of strength, reminding us that emotions are not simply felt, they are shaped, tested and refined.
Red Signs Series
A powerful reinterpretation of relationships through the eyes of a woman who experiences the world through symbols and emotional cues. The paintings in this series capture moments of intimacy, gesture and confrontation. They show the rise and fall of passion, the pressure points inside a relationship and the tenderness that sits beside imbalance.
Texture and sensual colour reveal how closeness can both empower and wound, transforming vulnerability into inner resilience. This series invites the viewer to reflect on emotional boundaries, desire and the private conversations that shape human connection.
In the Dark Series
This is Anastasiia at her most fierce and symbolic.
Inspired partly by Picasso, this series weaves together gloved hands, feathers, swords and stark feminine silhouettes. It explores the internal battle with doubt and fear, creating a portrait of a woman warrior who steps into her own darkness with dignity. Here, shadow is not emptiness, but a field of struggle where strength is forged. The monochrome tension, the sharp gesture and the poised stillness reveal a powerful psychological journey.
Free Style Series
A refreshing contrast to her dramatic series, this body of work embraces spontaneity and play.
Pastel and acrylic come together in bright, expressive gestures. These are emotional studies without a fixed narrative. They feel open, joyful and full of creative intuition. The work becomes a celebration of colour and freedom.
For Anastasiia Kolhan, painting is a way to crystallise emotion
She transforms intimacy, confrontation and loss into universal symbols. Her art reveals the pulse of life, the reality of death and the endurance of love in one continuous movement. Her work is contemporary, symbolic and emotionally rich, making her a significant voice in this auction.

Lot 0175 — Strength
Red Signs Series
This painting draws on the Tarot card of Strength, but Anastasiia replaces the traditional lion with something more intimate and psychological.Power is expressed through touch, restraint and emotional balance. This is the still moment before action, where passion and control merge.A portrait of inner force expressed through quiet confidence.
